What We Believe

Statement of Faith

We are united in faith, purpose and fellowship with all evangelical protestant churches worldwide, and has as its aim the winning of people to Jesus Christ, and the acceptance of the Bible as the supreme rule of faith. As a profession of our faith, we believe...

The Bible

That the Bible is God's completely inspired, infallible, authoritative Word. Isaiah 40:7-8, Matthew 5:18,19, 2 Timothy 3:16, 2 Peter 1:20,21

The Godhead

In one God, eternally existent and manifested to man in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit, The Holy Trinity. Deuteronomy 6:4, John 15:26, 2 Corinthians 13:14, Colossians 1:1-19, 2:8-9, 1 Peter 1:2, 1 John 5:1-7

The Father

We believe in God the Father, the first person of the triune Godhead, who exists eternally as the Creator of  heaven and earth,  the Giver of the Law, to whom all things will be subjected, so that He may be all in all.
Genesis 1:1,  Deuteronomy 6:4, 1 Corinthians 15:28

Jesus Christ

In the deity of Jesus Christ, His virgin birth, His sinless life, His miracles, His substitutionary and atoning death through His shed blood, His bodily resurrection, His ascension to the Father's right hand, and His coming return in power and glory.
Matthew 1:23, Luke 1:35, John 6:2, Acts 1:9-11, Acts 2:30-32, Colossians 3:1, Hebrews 2:2,3, 1 Peter 2:22

The Holy Spirit

We believe in the Holy Spirit, the third person of the triune Godhead, distinct from the Father and the Son (Luke 1:35, 1 Corinthians 2:10-11, 2 Corinthians 13:14). The clear and unmistakable teaching of Scripture is that the Holy Spirit is personal an is God. He is not impersonal, nor a mere principle or influence but possesses full, distinct personality. (John 16:7-8, John 14:16, 26, Acts 13:2-4, 1 Corinthians 12:11, Ephesians 4:30) and is ever present and active in the work of convicting and regenerating the sinner, and sanctifying the believer into all truth.
 John 14:26, 16:8-11, 1 Peter 1:2, Romans 8:14-16

The Fall of Mankind and The Salvation Humankind

That man by his own nature is sinful and falls short of what is required by God to enter into His Kingdom and is incapable of delivering himself from the wages of sin. But because God desired that none perish in their sin, He made a way of escape; and this salvation is appropriated by faith, cleansing, and regeneration by the Holy Spirit with total dependency on the Lord Jesus Christ and His blood .
John 3:16, Acts 2:21, Romans 3:23, 5:8, 6:23, 10:13, Galatians 3:23, Ephesians 2:8,9, Hebrews 2:2-3, 9:11-14, 2 Peter 3:9,
 1 John 1:7-8, 5:1,11-12, Revelation 1:5, 5:7-9

Sanctification

We believe that sanctification is an act of separation from that which is evil, and of dedication unto God. In experience, it is both instantaneous and progressive. It is produced in the life of the believer by his appropriation of the power of Christ's blood and risen life through the person of the Holy Spirit. He draws the believer's attention to Christ, teaches him through the Word and produces the character of Christ within him.
Romans 6:1-11, 8:1-2,13, 12:1-2, Galatians 2:20, Hebrews 10:10, 14

Water Baptism

In water baptism as an outward manifestation of the Holy Spirit's inward work of salvation and as a total identification with the death, burial and resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ.
Matthew 3:13-17, 28:18-20, Acts 2:38, Romans 6:16

The Baptism of the Holy Spirit

In the Baptism of the Holy Spirit as promised by Jesus and first manifested on the Day of Pentecost. We believe that the Baptism of the Holy Spirit is a vital experience for the believer and the growth of the church today. We believe that the Baptism of the Holy Spirit will be followed by an outward manifestation of the gifts of the Holy Spirit.
John 14:16-26, Acts 1:4-8, 2:1-4,1 Corinthians 12:1-13

The Blessed Hope

In the eminent bodily return of Jesus Christ for His church as promised in the Scriptures.
Luke 21:27,  Acts 1:11, 1 Thessalonians 4:16-18, 1 John 3:1-3

Statement of Marriage and Sexuality

We believe that God wonderfully and immutably creates each person as male  or female. These two distinct, complementary sexes together reflect the image and nature of God (Genesis 1:26-27). Rejection of one’s biological sex is a rejection of the image of God within that person.

We believe that the term “marriage” has only one meaning: the uniting of one man and one woman in a single, exclusive union, as delineated in Scripture.
Genesis 2:18-25

We believe that God intends sexual intimacy to occur only between a natural born man and a natural born woman who are married to each other.
1 Corinthians 6:18; 7:2-5; Hebrews 13:4

We believe that God has commanded that no intimate sexual activity be engaged in outside of a marriage between a natural born man and a natural born woman.

We believe that any form of sexual immorality (including adultery, fornication, homosexual behavior, bisexual conduct, bestiality, incest, or use of pornography is sinful and offensive to God.
 Matt. 15:18- 20; 1 Corinthians 6:9-10

We believe that in order to preserve the function and integrity of Building For Christ Ministry as the local Body of Christ, and to provide a biblical role model to Building For Christ Ministry members and the community, it is imperative that all persons employed by Building For Christ Ministry in any capacity, or who serve as volunteers, agree to and abide by this Statement on Marriage, Gender, and Sexuality.
 Matt 5:16; Phil 2:14-16; 1 Thessalonians 5:22

We believe that God offers redemption and restoration to all who confess and forsake their sin, seeking His mercy and forgiveness through Jesus Christ.
Acts 3:19-21; Romans 10:9-10; 1 Corinthians 6:9-11

We believe that every person must be afforded compassion, love, kindness, respect, and dignity (Mark 12:28-31; Luke 6:31). Hateful and harassing behavior or attitudes directed toward any individual are to be repudiated and are not in accord with Scripture nor the doctrines of Building For Christ Ministry.

Statement on Sanctity of Human Life

We believe that all human life is sacred and created by God in His image. Human life is of inestimable worth in all its dimensions, including pre-born babies, the aged, the physically or mentally challenged, and every other stage or condition from conception through natural death. We are therefore called to defend, protect, and value all human life. Psalms 139

Statement on Final Authority

Final Authority for Matters of Belief and Conduct The statement of faith does not exhaust the extent of our beliefs. The Bible itself, as the inspired and infallible Word of God that speaks with final authority concerning truth, morality, and the proper conduct of mankind, is the sole and final source of all that we believe. For purposes of Building For Christ Ministry’s faith, doctrine, practice, policy, and discipline, our Senior Pastor is Building For Christ Ministry’s final interpretive authority on the Bible’s application.
